  Popped in here last Sunday after trying the Three Locks further down the road which was fully booked for roast dinner. We were told upon arrival that the dining room was fully booked (despite numerous empty tables available and remaining available throughout our stay here). Anyway we were told we could sit in the bar area where there were a few tables available. The pub itself looks nice and is in a pleasant location, beer is fine too. I ordered the roast which came within a reasonable time, it tasted horrible. Flavourless, dry, the best I can compare it to is a frozen roast dinner from the supermarket which has been microwaved. Shockingly bad. My wife ordered crayfish which was served soaking wet as if it had been defrosted and then not even dried out just plonked on the plate. Would never eat here again after experiencing just those two dishes, I can see why the Three Locks just a mile or so down the the road was packed out. Go here for a drink, nothing more.

  Fantastic old pub, good food and the most well mannered staff I have met in some time. They genuinely seemed to enjoy being a team. It was pretty busy but I still managed to find a table
